"Por los pelos" = By the hair*

"Salvarse por los pelos" o "salvarse por (muy) poco" means Saved by the bell.

"He cogido el tren por los pelos. En cuanto me he montado, ha salido" "Se ha salvado/librado de hacer el trabajo por los pelos"

WHAT EXACTLY IS THIS BLOG?

It is just a very silly and funny approach to learn Spanish sayings and traditions by translating typical sentences in a literal way! ¿DE QUÉ ES ESTE BLOG?

Es simplemente un enfoque muy tonto y divertido para aprender dichos y costumbres españolas que consiste en traducir frases típicas literalmente! La expresión en Inglés NO es correcta, pero ayudará a la gente a recordar el dicho en español ya que mantiene el mensaje "divertido" presente en la lengua Española, igual que pasa con silly the bean o "tonto el haba".
